I fully agree -- electric fences are not effective with assertive dogs, dogs with a high pain threshold (as Boxers, Pit Bulls, Bulldogs, etc.) or dogs "on a mission" - i.e.: determined to take up a chase for any reason. Plus, it is true your dogs can .

Electric Fences?

I have made some inquiries and they sound great, but I have also been told that they don't work so well with boxers, the shock doesn't seem to bother them and they will go right through it. I'm also wondering if it will harm the dog..I know I wouldn't be very happy getting a shock in my neck??Boxer dog Samson used to regularly escape the back yard, but after his owner put up an electric fence he's been traumatised and refuses to go outside. I had an invisible fence for my Boxer and it worked great! You can set the strength of the shock and how far you want the warning beep to reach.
