I think I read reading somewhere that Volvo 240 speakers were Dynaudio, but maybe I misread it and that was in regards to the newer models as you mention. rearwheelpeel . I gave up on the HT-204 in my other two 240s and do installed 4" speaker to the inner door card (not the sheet metal! to over come mounting depth problems with the the front . The brake shield goes onto the steering knuckle first. That dust shield goes on next. The seal goes inside that dust shield and just presses against the sheet metal cup piece that goes in the hub after the large bearing. I am going to keep wire wheeling everything until I get clean metal in all directions. I plan to then paint all of the areas with Rust Bullet because I have used it in the past and it seemed to work good.
